KFM Founder Justo Dieguez and Co-Founder Andy Norman (pictured above with Christian Bale who was trained by KFM for the Batman Movies). Justo and Andy are the men responsible for creating, developing and bringing the amazing Art of KFM from Europe to the United States. KFM Lynbrook Chief Instructor John Leabo is a direct student of and is Certified to teach directly from the Founder and Co-Founder. KFM World Headquarters is located in Vallencia, Spain.
KFM Lynbrook – Chief Instructor – John Leabo
John Leabo is one of the pioneering Instructors of KFM in the United States. John was a graduate of the first Instructor-in-Training Class back in 2007, when KFM first arrived from Europe to the United States. He was one of the first Instructors to teach in the United States, the first to open an Academy in the USA that teaches KFM exclusively and the first to train and graduate students in New York. On October 26, 2011 after 4 years of eating, breathing and living KFM, John was tested in Spain by the founders of KFM and he along with Alan Baker were the first two Amercians to be awarded the KFM Black Grade (Black Belt).
In addition to his KFM training, John has always sought out the finest Martial Arts Instructors all over New York to train with. He has over 16 years of experience in a broad range of Martial Arts which include but are not limited to: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Prof. Rodrigo Gracie (Purple Belt), Pekiti Tirsia Kali (a weapons based art) under Tuhon Mike Popolizio, Muay Thai under Kru Phil Nurse, Boxing under former Light Middleweight Champion Curtis Summit, Ba Gua Zhang under Tom Bisio and Balintawak (An Art specializing in the Machete/Stick) under Master Zacarias Taco from the Phillipines. John is also a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a former New York City Police Officer from the infamous 67th Precinct in East Flatbush.
John teaches exclusively and “ONLY” KFM at his Academy. Although his training methods are very realistic and intense, the Academy atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and fun. His clientele range from Law Enforcement, Military and Security Professionals to VIPs, Moms and Dads.
John is a firm believer that Martial Arts training is a wonderful tool to better yourself, your community and your country. There are no ego’s, attitudes or delusions of grandeur at the Academy and everyone is treated equally with respect. All are welcome.
KFM Lynbrook New York – Instructor – Mike Simon
Mike Simon is a Brown Grade Assistant Instructor and is John Leabo’s highest ranking student and personal training partner. He brings his real world experience and excellent work ethic into his teaching.
