KFM as taught by John Leabo is the most intense and comprehensive course of martial arts instruction I have ever encountered. In the five months I have received practical realistic defense against 2,3,5 and 6 person combatants during attack scenarios, fighting from the ground and defending myself from prone positions to standing, have all been covered in this fierce and unique eclectic fighting system. Having attended a myriad of Law Enforcement/Military CQB tactical schools, in comparison I feel KFM is a graduate course in the use of force as applied in "urban conflict".
John Leabo and Mike Simon are very professional, have no ego's and are extremely proficient in the Keysi Fighting Method. I have learned more about personal protection and prevailing in a lethal encounter on the street in my short time learning KFM than I had at Martial Art schools I patronized for years. There is no corny mystical martial art philosopy, only high speed training that emphasizes stress inoculation in conjunction with physical conditioning every session.
There are no soft or slow paced techniques throughout the course curriculum, students are violently punched, stomped, shoved onto the ground and gang assaulted. Students are then taught economical efficient fight strategies and tactics to deal with every type of street onslaught. Each session culminates in aggressive cardio intensive multiple assailant semi force on force drills. The KFM training methodology is the essence of "Close Quarters Battle" and will take your counter assault skills to the highest level !!! .

As a police officer I take my training seriously. For me its a matter of life and death. Having studied almost every martial art available, I found most were missing something. They lack realism. They lack multiple threat engagements. They lack true effectiveness. KFM is the answer for these concerns. KFM is dynamic, aggressive and is 100% street effective. John Leabo has given me the skill, knowledge and confidence to survive the streets night after night. I travel several hours a day to make the long trip from NJ to Lynbrook because I believe in John's teachings and methodologies of urban survival. He is a modern day "Doctore," a trainer of gladiators.

I do security at the front door of several famous NYC Night Clubs. When someone or a group of rowdy people get kicked out of the club for fighting I am the one person who has to keep them out of the nightclub. I found in a one on one confrontation I was comfortable and confident with my previous Martial Arts training but when it came to defending myself against more then one attacker I was not properly trained so I started training in KFM. In one year of training at KFM Lynbrook I feel and know I can handle and control multiple attackers at the same time now. KFM is the closest you can come to training against real group attackers. KFM is a “Reality Based” Martial Art that is definitely designed for the REAL world today!

KFM is truly a unique and realistic Martial Art that is street, bar, subway and multiple attackers tested (armed or unarmed). If you’re looking for a Martial Art (just like I was) that’s realistic to the core with no fluff, hype or false claims than KFM is what you’re looking for. Go check out a class at KFM Lynbrook and see why so many are raving about KFM, you won’t be disappointed!

When I started my first KFM class I was 290 pounds, completely out of shape and had just been prescribed medication for high blood pressure. Because of KFM in one year I have lost 70 pounds. I am now in the best shape of my life and have perfect blood pressure without the aid of any pills. KFM has changed my life completely. It is not just a hobby or run of the mill martial art. It is a lifestyle, a mindset. KFM cultivates that primal predator that lies dormant in so many people today. The Instructors John Leabo & Mike Simon are second to none. The instruction is clear & precise and their vast knowledge of the Art shines through in their teaching. They don't just stand up there and bark direction but instead actively participate and engage in all the drills from the White Grade on up. They train hard making their students want to train hard. The Gym is welcoming, clean, spacious and has cutting edge scenario training areas as well as the classic bag/rope/weight features you would expect in a fighting facility. I would like to thank Justo & Andy for creating KFM and John & Mike for teaching me the most dynamic, ballistic, intricate and beautiful fighting Art I have ever seen.

At first I was unsure because I'm a 5' 2" woman with no muscles or prior martial arts experience, but that actually makes me "exactly" the type of person who should be learning KFM. The self defense techniques are efficient and practical for real life scenarios- on the street, in bars, subways etc and John explains it all crystal clear, step by step. Signing up has been the best decision I've ever made: I'm stronger, fitter, happier and more confident and really think every woman should be taking KFM. Classes are intense but fun and everyone is made to feel at home. KFM is all I talk about now and it's the highlight of my week- DO THIS.

KFM is a fascinating fighting method, because it uses adrenaline that everyone feels entering into a threatening or violent situation. It really comes from the gut. Rather than the kind of Zen calm that some martial arts call on, KFM is based on animal instinct and honing those instincts to be lethal, so it's perfect for Batman.

KFM is simply THE source to fighting effectively and defending your life against "Real World" attackers and scenarios. After one session, I was completely blown away by the real world applications of the "fighting method" in dealing with human instincts, not just principles or forms. I'm hooked on KFM, and I'm positive that what I'm learning will serve me well in life.

KFM is more then a fighting style, it's a realistic mindset. It allows a person to train their body and mind transforming him/her into a more confident and aware individual. The style is both realistic and animalistic, just like the streets. Being a student of KFM, I am better able to protect myself, my family, and the public. It is another tool that I have added to my arsenal.
